Binghamton, N.Y. (September 13, 2024) — Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN) is pleased to announce Mary O’Malley-Trumble, Senior Location Executive at IBM, is the 2024 Women of Distinction honoree. She will be honored at a breakfast on Thursday, September 19 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Binghamton, 225 Water St.
Women of Distinction are exceptional women who exhibit outstanding leadership through mentoring, community service and/or business. This leadership embodies the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
“We are honored to bestow this special recognition upon Mary in celebration of her leadership and impact on the greater Binghamton community,” says GSNYPENN CEO Julie Dale.
Girl Scout alum and Broome County native Mary O’Malley-Trumble makes it her personal and professional priority to ensure her contributions and commitments to Greater Binghamton are made through active involvement in her community.
In the early 1970s as a Girl Scout Brownie, Junior and Cadette, she forged friendships and skills that paved the way for her future.
Mary strongly values giving back through her passion for the non-profit sector and board service supporting underserved populations and those that advance the academic and social achievements of all abilities.
In 2023, she was named Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce Civic Leader of the Year for her long-term impact on the community.
A limited number of event tickets remain. Visit gsnypenn.org/wod to register. The cost is $45 per person and proceeds support the council’s Gold Award scholarship program.
Less than six percent of Girl Scout Seniors (grades 9-10) and Ambassadors (grades 11-12) earn this prestigious achievement by developing sustainable take-action projects to address community and global issues they’re passionate about. Above all else, earning the Gold Award exemplifies to Girl Scouts the difference one person can make and how dreaming big can effect change.
