Girl Scouts Honor Binghamton’s Mary O’Malley-Trumble as 2024 Woman of Distinction on September 19

September 13, 2024

Girl Scout alum and Broome County native Mary O’Malley-Trumble makes it her personal and professional priority to ensure her contributions and commitments to Greater Binghamton are made through active involvement in her community.

In the early 1970s as a Girl Scout Brownie, Junior and Cadette, she forged friendships and skills that paved the way for her future.

Mary strongly values giving back through her passion for the non-profit sector and board service supporting underserved populations and those that advance the academic and social achievements of all abilities.

In 2023, she was named Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce Civic Leader of the Year for her long-term impact on the community.

A limited number of event tickets remain. Visit gsnypenn.org/wod to register. The cost is $45 per person and proceeds support the council’s Gold Award scholarship program.

Less than six percent of Girl Scout Seniors (grades 9-10) and Ambassadors (grades 11-12) earn this prestigious achievement by developing sustainable take-action projects to address community and global issues they’re passionate about. Above all else, earning the Gold Award exemplifies to Girl Scouts the difference one person can make and how dreaming big can effect change.
