58th NCS: July 21-22 in Washington, D.C.
This is the business meeting where delegates from every council across the nation and USA Girl Scouts Overseas come together to discuss key issues important to our Movement, debate and vote on proposals, and elect our national leaders for the next triennium. It’s democracy in action, as girl delegates vote alongside adult delegates and have a direct voice in shaping the future of Girl Scouts. Our elected NCS Delegates will attend and act on our members' behalf.
Message From GSNYPENN CEO Julie Dale & Board Chair Tiffany Alvarez Smith, NCS Alternates
Three proposals have been announced for debate and vote at our Movement's 58th NCS: highest award solicitations, member dues and preservation of the entrepreneurship program. There are also two discussion topics: amplifying impact and revolutionizing engagement.
Members are invited to read the agenda items and rationale, excerpted directly from the 58th NCS Alert. But, more importantly: WE want to hear from YOU! The NCS is a critical component of the Girl Scout democratic process, and allows our members, represented by elected national delegates, to participate in the governance of our Movement.
If you can't make it to our Annual Meeting on May 2 in Seneca Falls, we hope you’ll join our private GSNYPENN: NCS Info & Insights Facebook group and/or attend our virtual Town Hall on May 18 to learn more about these items, ask questions and provide feedback to our council delegation.
As we shape the future, we thank our 10 Delegates and Alternates for being the voice of all council members and bringing it to the 58th NCS. We're also grateful to our volunteers for the passion, thoughtfulness and care they bring to our shared mission.
Together, we’ll continue to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place for many years to come.
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Julie & Tiffany
Girl Scouts Unite: July 23-25 in Washington, D.C.
Following NCS, more than 10,000 Girl Scout community members and supporters will celebrate all the ways "Girls Make History." Girl Scouts have transformed—and continue to transform—our country. We planted victory gardens during World War II and marched for civil rights. We launch new businesses and advocate for the issues we care about. We dream big. We spark change. We lead the way. There’s no better time and place to celebrate the incredible impact of Girl Scouts than on the 250th anniversary of the U.S. in our nation’s capital.
Visit the 58th NCS and Girl Scouts Unite site to see the full six-day schedule, explore girl and adult workshops, get help planning your trip, purchase event tickets and more.
