What Is a Girl Scout Cookie?

Girl Scout cookies are much much more than a sweet treat that Americans look forward to each year. Check out this video to see how powerful these little cookies are!

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a great all-American tradition passed on through many generations. The cookie program is usually the first opportunity girls have to try their hand at being entrepreneurs. The program not only funds activities for Girl Scouts year-round, it teaches girls skills in

Leadership Development
Ethical Decision Making
Presentation Skills
Working as Part of a Team
Setting Goals
Developing Plans for Reaching Those Goals
Interpersonal Communication
Customer Service
Financial Literacy
Money Management

Girls take an active role in the cookie program, developing the above skills and planning what to do with the funds that they generate, learning to be self-sufficient young women.

Girls know that through the cookie program, dreams can become realities as they earn their own way to adventures that they plan with the guidance of their troop leaders. We will celebrate with all the girls as they experience the fun, friendship, leadership, teamwork and diversity the Girl Scout Cookie Program has to offer.

Girl Scouts in the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways council will be selling cookies at various times during the 2009-10 year, via the schedule of their former council areas.

Magazine / Nut & Candy Program

Girl Scouts in Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways may be involved in additional product sale programs to benefit the troops and the council. These typically involve magazines, books, music and nuts/candy. These sales are not promoted to the general public, but are intended for friends and families of Girl Scouts.

For more information on the sales happening in former council areas,
