Girl Scout Gold Award
A girl wishing to earn a Gold Award needs to submit a project proposal form to council prior to beginning the award project. When the award project is completed, the final report form must be submitted to council for approval. If a girl is approved to receive the Gold Award, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Inc. will purchase the award pin for her.
Here are the forms you will need.
Girl Scout Gold Award Project Proposal and Final Report Submission Dates
Gold Award project proposals are collected at intervals throughout the membership year for consideration at the next Gold Award Committee meeting. Submission deadlines are as follows:
- Friday, June 4, 2010: Proposals submitted by the June 4 deadline the must be presented to the Gold Award Committee at their meeting the evening of Thursday, June 17th.
- Friday, August 6, 2010: Proposals submitted by the August 6 deadline must be presented to the Gold Award Committee at their meeting the evening of Wednesday, August 18th.
Once Gold Award project proposals are received you will be contacted as to the date and location in your area for the Gold Award Committee review. Please remember to have proposals complete with signatures from girl, leader and project advisor.
Gold Award project final reports can be submitted any time after project completion but no later than September 30 of the year in which a girl graduates from high school.
Money Earning Policy
Sometimes award projects require funds for materials and other aspects of the project beyond what is available in the troop treasury. There are specific restrictions and guidelines for raising funds that girls must follow. Please review and carefully follow the money earning policy listed below. Keep in mind that the Request for Money Earning Activity form must be submitted in time to be approved at least three weeks before the activity takes place.
