Thinking Day Traditions

Each year on 22 February, we celebrate World Thinking Day, a special day when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all around the world think of each other and give thanks and appreciation to their “sister” Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. World Thinking Day was first created in 1926 at the 4th Girl Guide/Girl Scout International Conference, held at Girl Scouts of the USA’s Camp Edith Macy (now called Edith Macy Conference Center). The World Thinking Day theme for 2010 is girls worldwide saying "together we can end extreme poverty and hunger." The aim is to raise awareness among everyone about the situation and improve the lives of the poorest people in the world. The workshop will introduce volunteers to ceremony ideas and WAGGGS activities to honor the day. One session only, January 20, Hew Hartford.
